Dog Parks

McDaniel Meadows Dog Park

The Meadows has a network of gravel and paved trails that allow for walks ranging from one half to over a mile. The Meadows’ main entrance is on Wilderness Parkway near the North end of Big Canoe, not far from the North Gate. The Meadows Dog Park is a short walk from the parking area on Wilderness Parkway. Walk past the Doggie Bag Station (please grab some for your pet), cross over the bridge and take the next right, then cross over that bridge. The Dog Park is visible on your left and the Dog Park gate is at the distant end of the park.

Diamond Dog Park

Diamond Dog Park is the newest and largest dog park in Big Canoe. Diamond Dog Park is an off leash park providing play areas for both large and small dogs. New agility play equipment has been installed in both small and large dog areas. The play equipment provides good cardiovascular, muscular, and mental exercise for you and your dog. Diamond Dog Park is open daily.

Wildcat Dog Park & Trails

Wildcat has a network of paved trails for waking or cycling. The connected trails range from 0.6 to 1.9 miles. There are two Dog Parks at Wildcat that are located on the Red Loop Trail near the Pavilion parking area on Wilderness Parkway. Both Red Loop Dog Parks are a short walk past the pavilion and the message board. The “Big Dog” dog park is on your right and the “Little Dog” dog park is on your left. These two Dog Parks allow dog owners to separate smaller dogs from larger dogs when size intimidation is an issue.

Pet's Must be Leashed

Remember while you are out and about in Big Canoe, unless you are at one of our beautiful dog parks, your pet must be on a leash at all times. Having your pet on a leash protects them as well as every member of the community. Keep in mind that not everyone is a dog person and keep control of your pet while walking the trails and pathways through Big Canoe.

While on the trails, having your pet on a leash will protect them from becoming lost, being bitten by another animal, or frightening wildlife. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Big Canoe POA Dog Park Committee.

Dog Park Committee

The Big Canoe Dog Park Committee is an advisory resource to the POA. The committee is tasked with understanding the legal requirements of dog parks per state and local laws, researching the components and features of successful dog parks in the metro Atlanta area, communicating dog park information to residents, and providing recommendations for further enhancements and routine maintenance.
